Color Selection
The process begins with paint and color selection. Once you have selected your colors, we will take the necessary steps to ensure that the colors you choose look the way you expect them to when the job is finished. We always use quality paint usually from Benjamin Moore or California Paint unless you have a preference for another quality manufacturer. We will happily guides you through this selection process and have several online resources to assist in your selection, upon request.
Preperation
Investing in a quality paint job can mean the difference between painting every few years or a paint job that will last for many years. The major difference in a quality paint job is the proper preperation of surfaces ti be painted to ensure you get the longest lasting paint job possible. Donald R. Ross & Son has a series of Steps for quality preparation that we use for every paint job to ensure our work stands the test of time.
Painting
Once you have chosen the colors for your project, we will take the steps necessary to make certain that the colors you pick look the way you expect them to when the job is complete. If you are still undecided between colors, we will mix up some samples and paint a few areas of the room for you to view in different lighting at different times of the day before making a decision. Once you settle on a color that seems perfect, we will tint a primer to that color and paint the entire room to give you one more chance to make certain you made the right selection before we apply the finish paint.

Before the first coat of paint ever touches a surface, we follow a meticulous preparation process designed to ensure durability, beauty, and precision. Our carefully crafted preparation system is the foundation of every flawless finish--and what sets us apart.
Checklist

All areas inside your home or business including floors, rugs, furniture, etc., will be protected from start to finish by drop cloths or poly plastic.

Whenever possible, vacuum sanders are used to protect the environment and property.
Detail

All areas of loose paint will be sanded. Further sanding and smoothing may be necessary for maintenance or cosmetic consideration. The proper primer will be applied to bare wood and plaster to assure proper adhesion of the new paint. This step also helps prevent future peeling in these areas.

Surfaces and/or rooms to be painted will be clean and dust free to ensure clean paint adhesion. There will be no prep materials left in the room where paint coats are being applied.

Any loose caulking will be removed and replaced. Any open gaps will be filled with new caulking.

All excess paint will be removed from windows and the entire area will be clean, tidy, and presentable.
